According to the panel of arbiters, Saeed Rahimi, Ali Reza Lotfinia, Mojtaba Harandizadeh, and Hamed Karmalakaab from Iran, Ahmed RAzzaq Al-Dalfi, Muhammad Zalif Atiya Wali, and Zia Badri Ahmed al-Mousawi from Iraq, Abdul Razzaq Ashraf Al-Shahwi, Ahmed Samir Abdul Aziz, and Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad Ismail from Egypt, Ahmed Safi al-Halabi from Syria, and Muhammad Ridha al-Aman Surtman from Indonesia have qualified for the semifinals.
The names of the other twelve semifinalists will be announced in the following days.
The semifinal round will be held on the 25th night of Ramadan with the participation 24 top qaris.
Ultimately 5 qaris with the best performance will compete in the final round on the night before Eid Al-Fitr.
The phone-in Quran competition titled “Inna lil-Muttaqina Mafaza” (Indeed, for the righteous is attainment- Holy Quran, 78:31) is held in the blessed month of Ramadan every year.
It is the Muslim world’s biggest live Quran recitation competition aired by Al-Kawthar, an Arabic-language channel within the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting’s World Service.
